THE ROBERT’S
The Roberts family chose to join the RISE program for several reasons. They recognized the value of programs that strengthen financial stability and improve overall quality of life. Facing significant debt and long-standing spending habits they hoped to change, they entered the program with the goal of learning practical skills to help them move toward a healthier financial future.
Once they began RISE, they quickly discovered that the program offered far more than financial education. One of the most challenging—and transformative—components was learning how to set meaningful goals. By establishing clear goals, they were better able to create expectations, build a functional budget, and identify areas where their habits needed to change. The budgeting process was especially eye-opening, revealing exactly where their money was going and helping them understand how to make smart, intentional choices. Throughout the journey, they received consistent support and engagement from Patricia Deck and their facilitator, Deb Glazner.
The RISE class provided foundational skills, but the Roberts family found that true growth continued through the Maintenance program. These sessions offered opportunities to learn about parenting, plan for the upcoming year, and envision their future with greater clarity. They credit the maintenance phase as the place where the real work begins—putting principles into practice and making lasting changes.
Together, the Roberts family have benefited greatly from the program. They have discovered new and meaningful ways to grow as a family and have formed valuable friendships along the way. They consider their time in RISE a worthwhile investment and remain grateful for everyone who supports the program at the Dream Center.
