Patricia Rogers is a single mother of three who also cares for her elderly mother, carrying a significant amount of responsibility on her own. For a long time, she managed everything by herself, but eventually found she was becoming overwhelmed and had no one to turn to for support. When her family ran low on groceries one week, she sought help in the community and discovered the Dream Center.

Patricia first began attending the Wednesday night community dinners and later enrolled in the RISE program. Today, she is considered a veteran at the Dream Center. Although she graduated from the program two years ago, she continues to attend the Maintenance classes to stay grounded and focused. Since completing RISE, Patricia is proud to say she tracks every dollar and has become, in her words, a “budget freak.”

Beyond financial skills, she has built a strong community of people who understand her journey—many of whom have become lifelong friends and now feel like family. Looking ahead, Patricia hopes to pay it forward by volunteering more at Dream Center events and continuing in the Maintenance classes to keep her heart, mind, body, and soul strong.

She recommends the Dream Center to anyone seeking support, describing the staff as incredibly kind, encouraging, and helpful. Patricia remains grateful for the impact the Dream Center has had on her life and her family.
