WHAT IS DC ACADEMY?

DC Academy serves students grades K - 5 at Bowerman Elementary and grades 6 -8 at Reed Middle School. Programming is centered around Social/Emotional Learning (SEL). Each day’s structured activities include a healthy snack, body movement/art, mindful practices, and a full SEL curriculum broken down into engaging “mini-lessons.”

Teachers and staff are trained in Trauma-Informed Care, and Conscious Discipline classrooms management emphasizing Safety, Building Relationships, and Regulating Emotions.

WHO QUALIFIES?

Students who attend Bowerman Elementary and Reed Middle School in grades K - 8 who qualify for free/reduced lunches.

WHEN IS DC ACADEMY?

Reed Students’ DC Academy Times: Monday through Friday, 4:00 pm. to 5:30 pm.

Bowerman Students’ DC Academy Time: Monday through Friday, 3:10 pm to 5:30 pm.
